Beckley, WV- Bluefield State University baseball fell to West Virginia Wesleyan College 10-2 and 15-3 on Saturday at Linda K Epling Stadium.

Game One

The Bobcats jumped out to an early 8-0 lead over the Big Blue scoring two in the first, three in the second, two in the fifth and one in the sixth. The Big Blue brought one of their own across the plate in the seventh after Brantley Durham singled to left field and Cole Cote tripled to center field. The Bobcats added another in the eighth, but the Big Blue scored one in the bottom of the inning after a leadoff single from Dillion Sullivan and a triple from Korbin Bostic. The Bobcats extended their lead in the ninth to take the 10-2 victory over the Big Blue.

Zach Powell collected the loss for the Big Blue throwing five innings, giving up nine hits, two walks and striking out five. Kerry Collins threw four innings for the Big Blue giving up six hits, two walks and striking out six.

Game Two

After the Bobcats struck first in game two, the Big Blue evened the score 1-1 in the third. Garett Hladilek doubled to left field followed by a single from Tahir Meulens to bring Hladilek home. The Bobcats took back the lead scoring one in fifth, six in the sixth, two in the seventh and five in the eighth. The Big Blue added two in the eighth after an RBI single from Andrew Scarberry and a RBI ground out from Cam Lowke, but could not overcome the 15-3 deficit.
