Bluefield, WV – Bluefield State University volleyball went 2-1 at the CIAA Roundup, collecting wins against Fayetteville State and Livingstone.
Game One vs. Shaw (0-3 L; 19-25, 16-25, 21-25)
The Big Blue fell to Shaw University to open the round up, 3-0. Jannice Lynch led the Big Blue with 18 kills and 11 digs. Brishaela McHaney added six kills with Kaileigh Solis coming away with 16 digs. The Big Blue stayed competitive throughout the match, tying the score 14 times with seven lead changes.
Game Two vs. Fayetteville State (3-2 W;25-23, 13-25, 25-23, 25-17, 15-13)
The Big Blue secured the hard-fought five set victory over Fayetteville State in game two. Lynch led the Big Blue with 15 kills and seven service aces. Soniya Garner added 12 kills with Imani Stokes adding 11 kills and two blocks. Libero Sydeny Hoosier came away with 32 digs.
Game Three vs. Livingstone (3-1 W; 25-16, 25-22, 24-26, 25-20)
The Big Blue took the 3-1 victory over Livingstone in the final game of the roundup. Leading the charge was Lynch, who delivered a 16 kills with a .314 hitting percentage performance, supported by Hoosier adding 14 digs. The Big Blue move to 12-15 on the year and 8-2 in CIAA play.
