Wiley’s Four Touchdowns Lead Big Blue Past Lincoln (PA), 30-27

Bluefield, WV – Bluefield State University football earned its second straight home victory on Saturday afternoon, defeating Lincoln (PA) 30-27. The Big Blue improve to 3-3 overall and 2-1 in CIAA play.

Brandon Wiley led the way for the Big Blue with four touchdown receptions from quarterback Brice Koontz. Danny Dales added two successful extra points and a 25-yard field goal to extend the Big Blue lead.

After the Big Blue struck first to take the early lead, the Lions tied it up 7-7 to open the second quarter. The Big Blue quickly responded, as Wiley caught a 49-yard touchdown pass to extend the lead 13-7. Another Wiley TD combined with a Dales field goal took the Big Blue into the half with the 23-7 advantage.

The Lions narrowed the gap in the third quarter, 23-14. Early in the fourth, Wiley's fourth touchdown reception stretched the lead 30-14. The Lions pulled within three late in the quarter but could not overcome the Big Blue 30-27.

Koontz fueled the Big Blue offense, throwing for 308 yards and four touchdowns, all caught by Wiley, who finished with 128 yards receiving. King Faison led on the ground with 30 yards on 11 carries, while Jake Simmons added 12 yards. Nolan Meehleib anchored the defense with nine tackles with Rashad Muhammad finishing with seven, including 1.5 for loss.
