Big Blue Fall to Virginia State in Overtime

Ettrick, VA – Bluefield State University soccer fell to Virginia State 2-1 in overtime in the Championship matchup of the CIAA Women's Soccer Cup on Sunday.

After a strong defensive start, the Trojans took the lead in the 38th minute. The Big Blue answered in the second half after a penalty kick from Yassin Joof to tied it up 1-1 to force the overtime period. The Trojans secured the victory after a goal in the 93rd minute.

Goalkeeper Kaycee Coty finished with five saves on the day.
