Clarion, PA – Bluefield State University women's basketball fell to Clarion 66-63 in the CIAA/PSAC Challenge.
Despite being outscored 16-9 in the first quarter, the Big Blue bounced back with 17 points in the second to cut the deficit to one going into the half.
The Big Blue continued to battle out of the break and took the 35-34 lead after a layup from Jasmine Jenkins midway through the quarter. At the 2:41 mark, a layup from Leniyah Fulsom sparked a nine-point run for the Big Blue to extend their lead 46-39.
The Golden Eagles bounced back to tie it up at 57 with four minutes left in regulation. After back-and-forth play, two late Big Blue fouls sent the Golden Eagles to the line to take the 66-63 victory.
Jenkins secured the double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Fulsom followed with 14 points and Mia Little added 11 points and six rebounds.
