Bowie, MD - Bluefield State University volleyball fell short against Fayetteville State 3-1 in the Quarterfinals of the CIAA Championships. The Big Blue finish the year 15-17 overall.
The Big Blue totaled 79 digs, 48 kills, 42 assists and 10 blocks while hitting .122 as a team.
Allyson Martin led the Big Blue with 17 kills and nine digs, while Dynasty Andrews added 10 kills, two blocks and hit .280. Soniya Garner finished with nine kills and 13 digs and Callesta Styles chipped in three blocks.
Gabrielle Hale guided the offense with 34 assists, adding 10 digs and a block. Kaileigh Solis collected 26 digs and four aces, while Maya Morales followed with 16 digs, three assists and one ace.
The Broncos took the opening two sets 25-19 and 25-21, but the Big Blue bounced back to take set three 25-22. The fourth set featured 15 ties, but the Broncos closed out the match 26-24 to take down the Big Blue. Â
