Bluefield, WV – Bluefield State University student-athletes joined institutions across the CIAA on Tuesday for the CIAA SAAC Unity Walk Initiative, uniting in support of student-athlete mental health and wellness.
Led by SAAC President Robert Scott, Big Blue student-athletes gathered to walk together, taking time to pause their daily routines and raise awareness for mental health. The event emphasized the importance of community, connection, and speaking up for one another.
"We walked for awareness, but we stood for each other," said Scott. "Mental Health is everyone's responsibility, and unity is our strength. When we walk in unity, no one struggles in silence."
The CIAA SAAC Unity Walk encourages each campus to pause and reflect- whether that be on mental health, voting awareness, or social justice. The goal of the Unity Walk is to create a visible demonstration of strength, solidarity, and purpose within the CIAA community.
