Bluefield, WV – Bluefield State University women's basketball defeated Shaw 79-54. The Big Blue improve to 5-4 and 1-1 in conference play.
The Big Blue capitalized on turnovers to build a 25-14 lead after the first quarter. The Big Blue continued to pour on the pressure to take the 40-28 lead into halftime.
The Big Blue used a 23-11 scoring run in the third to push past the Bears 79-54.
Azahreya Drayton-Gill secured the double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds on the night. Jasmine Jenkins added 15 with Jhakia Gist adding 13, including three threes. Azori Edwards added 10 points and seven rebounds off the bench.
