Bluefield, WV – Bluefield State University women's basketball battled until the final buzzer, but came up just short against Fayetteville State, 93-90, on Monday.
The contest features four ties and six lead changes with the Broncos holding a 25-22 advantage in the opening quarter and a 52-43 advantage at halftime.
The Broncos outscored the Big Blue 23-21 in the third to take the75-64 lead into the final quarter. The Big Blue made a late push, outscoring the Broncos 26-18 in the final 10 minutes, but were unable to overcome the deficit, falling 93-90.
Jasmine Jenkins led the Big Blue with 25 points, five steals, four rebounds, and three assists. Leniyah Fulsom added 21 points and five steals off the bench with Jayla Sample chipping in nine points and five rebounds.
