Elizabeth City, NC – Bluefield State University men's basketball secured the one-point victory over Elizabeth City State University 77-76. The Big Blue improved to 17-10 (10-6 CIAA) with the Vikings moving to 11-16 (4-12 CIAA).

The Big Blue score the first two buckets of the matchup with layups from Jordan Hinds and Rell Williams. The Vikings took the 13-9 lead at the 14:26 mark, but a jumper from Hinds 77sparked a seven-point run to take the 16-13 lead. The Vikings had their largest lead of the night (8) at 8:47, but the Big Blue battled back to even the score 28-28 with five minutes left in the first half. After the score was tied three times, a dunk from Shainen Carter took the Big Blue into the half with the 38-36 lead.

The Big Blue pushed their lead to seven with back-to-back layups from Romeo Aquino and Larry Howell. The Vikings took the one-point lead with 2:35 but a trip to the line for Aquino and a dunk from Carter gave the Big Blue the three point lead. The Vikings pulled within one with 33 seconds remaining, but the Big Blue held strong to come away with the 77-76 victory.
