Athens, WV – Bluefield State University men's and women's Track & Field team competed in the Concord University Invitational April 10th and 11th.
Senior Sherman Franklin started the weekend, taking first in the Javelin (45.79m) and setting a new personal best. Fellow Big Blue Luke Roberts taking fourth. Samba Jah placed 3rd in shot put, setting a new personal best with a mark of 12.29m. Ronny Astudillo placed second in Discus followed by Thomas Smith in third and Zach Pennington in fourth.
Robert Scott III took first in the 200m (22.25s) and 100m (10.9s), setting a new school record in the 100m. In the 400m, Shyheim Holmes took second with a time of 51.24s for a personal best.
On the women's side, Dynasty Andrews took first in the shot put and also set a new Personal Best (10.98m). Oliviah Green won the Discus on her final throw (33.73m).
Khrisalyn Kegler took second in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:14.37 and in the 100m with a 16.31s.
Up Next: Bluefield State Track & Field will travel to North Carolina A&T State University to compete in the Aggie Invitational April 19th – 20th.
