This collaboration was made possible through the leadership and vision of Travis Perkins, a proud Bluefield State alumnus and local business owner. As the driving force behind the Big Blue Market, Perkins has remained committed to supporting the growth of Bluefield State and giving back to the campus that shaped him.

A native of Bluefield, West Virginia, Perkins studied business management at Bluefield State University and became a successful entrepreneur and community leader. His passion for uplifting the city and his alma mater has led to several ventures focused on service, economic development, and student engagement. With the Big Blue Market, he brings together his love for business, community, and Bluefield State in a meaningful and lasting way.
