Athens, WV – Bluefield State University volleyball closed out the Concord Classic falling to West Virginia Wesleyan on Friday before responding with a sweep of Davis & Elkins on Saturday at the Carter Center.
On Friday, the Big Blue battled West Virginia Wesleyan but came up short in four sets (19–25, 27–25, 14–25, 13–25). The Big Blue evened the match with a hard-fought second set, 27–25, but Wesleyan regained control over the final two frames. Allyson Martin and Soniya Garner led the offense with 10 kills each while Gabby Hale finished with 27 assists and seven digs. Callesta Styles and Nnea Williams combined for 10 blocks at the net with Kaileigh Solis added four digs and a service ace.
The Big Blue bounced back Saturday morning with a sweep of Davis & Elkins (25–23, 25–21, 25–23). Garner led the Big Blue with 10 kills while Martin added eight kills. Hale came away with 25 assists and five aces with Williams adding seven total blocks. Solis led the defense with 12 digs.
