Elizabeth City, NC – Bluefield State University women's basketball dominated Elizabeth City State, 79-44. The Big Blue improve to 10-6 overall and 4-3 in CIAA play.
The Big Blue took control early, taking the six-point lead at the 6:32 mark of the first and outscoring the Vikings 41-16 in the first half. The Big Blue exploded for 32 points out of the half to extend their lead even further. The Big Blue defense forced 39 turnovers and collected 24 steals on the day.
The Big Blue connected on 10 threes while shooting 73% from the line. Ten Big Blue scored in the 35-point victory, with the bench contributing 46 points.
Leniyah Fulsom led the Big Blue with a game-high 17 points, five steals and four rebounds. Jhakia Gist added 12 points on 3-of-5 shooting from behind the arch, while Azori Edwards chipped in 11 points. Jasmine Jenkins rounded out the double-digit scorers with 10 points and a team-high six rebounds.
