Petersburg, VA – Bluefield State University men's basketball fell short 60-59 against Virginia State on Saturday. The Big Blue move to 8-12 overall and 7-3 in CIAA play.
Despite a 10-point advantage midway through the first half, the Big Blue trailed 38-29 at the intermission as the Trojans capitalized on fast-break opportunities to take the lead. The Big Blue defense held the Trojans to just 22 points in the second half but couldn't overcome the deficit.
Myles Pierre led all players with 18 points, six rebounds and two steals. Ellija Preddy added 15 points, four assists and three rebounds. Warren Mouganda contributed nine points and five rebounds, while Anthony Latty anchored the defense with six rebounds and two blocks.
