Takoma Park, MD – Bluefield State University soccer put on a dominant offensive performance against Washington Adventist to secure the 8-0 victory shutout.
The Big Blue took control early, with Genesis Holguin opening the scoring in the 12th minute. The Big Blue extended its lead going into the 18th minute after Iyana Campbell found the back of the net off of an assist from Lillian Spurgin.
The Big Blue attack erupted late in the first half, starting with a goal from Maria Herrera in the 36th minute. Lauren Mallinger secured the hat trick within six minutes of play with goals in the 39th, 42nd and 45th minute to take the Big Blue into the half with the 6-0 advantage.
The Big Blue continued to have control offensively with back-to-back goals in the 52nd and 53rd minute from Mareli Farias and Arianna DiMartino. The Big Blue outshot the Shock 31-1 and held a 15-1 advantage in shots on goal.
