Glenville, WV – Bluefield State University Acrobatics & Tumbling opened the 2026 season on Thursday, finishing with a total score of 112.125 in a tri-meet against Glenville State and Wheeling University.
The meet opened with the Compulsory event, where the Big Blue executed the skill for a total of 17.70. In the Acro heat, the team scored a 3.15, followed by a 5.40 in the Pyramid heat. The Big Blue earned a 7.15 in the Toss heat and finished the event with a 2.00 in the Tumbling Heat.
Next, in the Acro event, In the 5 Element heat, the team earned a 5.20, followed by a 3.55 in the 6 Element heat. The Big Blue finished the event with a 6.35 in the 7 Element heat, resulting in an Acro total of 15.10.
In the Pyramid event, the Big Blue recorded a 7.15 in the Inversion heat. The team earned a 6.00 in the synchronized heat and closed the event with an 8.15 in the open heat. This brought the Pyramid event total to 21.30.
At halftime, the Big Blue held a score of 54.10.
The team started the second half with the Toss event, earning a 7.05 in the 450 Salto heat. The Big Blue followed with a 5.55 in the synchronized heat and a 6.60 in the open heat. The Big Blue totaled 19.20 in the Toss event, moving the overall score to 73.30.
Bluefield State continued into the Tumbling event, posting a 6.700 in the Duo pass and a 5.650 in the Trio pass. After earning a 2.550 in the Quad pass, the team saw higher scores in the individual passes. The Big Blue earned an 8.400 in the Aerial pass and a 9.025 in the 6 Element pass. The event concluded with a 6.500 in the Open pass, giving the team a tumbling total of 38.825.
