Richmond, VA – Bluefield State University women's basketball fell to Virginia Union 85-67. The Big Blue move to 13-11 (7-8 CIAA).
The Panthers established control, outscoring the Big Blue in every quarter. The Big Blue fought back with a 23-point quarter in the fourth, but couldn't overcome the deficit previously set by the Panthers. The Big Blue defense forced 25 turnovers and recorded 14 steals, which converted into 26 points.
Jasmine Jenkins led the Big Blue with 17 points, four rebounds and four assists. Jhakia Gist contributed 16 points along with three steals. Jayla Sample added 10 points and three steals, while Tinasia Spencer provided a spark off the bench with six points and four rebounds. Azahreya Drayton-Gill and Azori Edwards each recorded a block.
