Bluefield, WV – Bluefield State University men's basketball utilized a dominant first-half to secure the 75-73 victory over Bowie State. The Big Blue improve to 10-12 on the year and 8-3 in conference play.
The Big Blue took control early, dominating the Bulldogs 44-23 at the half; However, the Bulldogs mounted a comeback in the second half, outscoring the Big Blue 50-31. Despite the late pressure, the Big Blue held firm and used clutch free-throw shooting to secure the 75-73 victory.
Myles Pierre led all players with 24 points, including three threes and a perfect 7-of-7 from the line. Warren Mouganda and Anthony Davenport each added 18 points, while Mouganda hauling in seven rebounds. Anthony Latty anchored the defense with 10 points, nine rebounds and two blocks with Ellija Preddy adding eight assists to go along with three steals.
