Bluefield, WV – Bluefield State University softball earned the sweep over Livingstone, 12-0 and 14-3. The Big Blue improve to 12-19 overall.
Game One – 12-0 W
The Big Blue held the Blue Bears scoreless and brought 12 across the plate on 17 hits to secure victory in game one. The Big Blue scored four in the first and then exploded for six runs in the second, highlighted by a homerun from Janessah Nappi. The Big Blue extended their lead in the fourth with two to secure the 12-0 lead.
Janessah Nappi led the Big Blue, going 3-for-3 with four RBIs and two runs. Yonah Rogers earned the win in the circle, allowing six hits while striking out four.
Game Two – 14-3 W
The Blue Bears opened game two with two runs to take the early lead, but the Big Blue answered with two in the bottom of the inning to even the score. The Blue Bears took the lead in the third, but the Big Blue scored three in the third and maintained the lead the rest of the way. The Big Blue sealed the win with a nine run fourth inning.
Paige Whittington and Mikaylah Chimara led the Big Blue with two hits, two runs, and three RBIs each, with Whittington adding two stolen bases. Jackie Sandy collected the win, allowing four hits, three runs, two walks while striking out four.
