Walker Becomes First CIAA Champion in Program History

Petersburg, VA – Bluefield State University men's and women's Track & Field competed at CIAA Outdoor Championship, where freshman Ja'Myiah Walker led the way become the first CIAA Champion in program history.

Walker continued her dominant debut campaign, taking the crown in women's shot put with a mark of 13.50m. Walker also took 2nd in javelin, throwing a personal best 36.50m.

In men's javelin, Joey Isaacs and Luke Roberts secured 2nd and 3rd on the podium with throws of 48.40m and 46.08m. Darius Brown added to the team score with a 6th place finish in triple jump with a distance of 14.29m with Taniyah Hicks finishing 8th in women's triple jump with a jump of 11m. In high jump, Taleyah Palmer and Sy Crowley both cleared 1.50m to tie for 7th.

The men's 4x400 team posted a season best and new school record of 3:20.42 with the women's 4x100 placing 7th at 49.51s.
