With more than a decade of experience in sports administration, Broderick Tucker has built a career defined by consistent success, academic excellence, and a deep commitment to student-athlete development.
Tucker was named the tenth Director of Athletics at Bluefield State University on May 13, 2025, bringing to the Big Blue a proven record of leadership in compliance, academic support, and program growth. He is dedicated to developing scholar-athletes who excel in the classroom, compete with integrity, and lead with purpose. “Through competitive excellence, responsible growth, and strategic engagement,” Tucker said, “we will build sustainable programs that inspire pride, strengthen community, and elevate the Bluefield State brand on the regional and national stage.”
Prior to his appointment at Bluefield State, Tucker served as Executive Senior Associate Athletics Director for Compliance and Student Success at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff from 2022 to 2024. He originally joined UAPB in June 2021 as Associate Athletics Director for Compliance, where he enhanced compliance operations, improved student-athlete outcomes, and launched the NILions Program to expand Name, Image, and Likeness opportunities for student-athletes.
Tucker previously served his alma mater, Grambling State University, in multiple leadership roles. He was Assistant Athletics Director for Academic Enhancement from 2019 to 2020, where he implemented a comprehensive student-athlete development program, and Compliance and Academic Enhancement Coordinator from 2016 to 2019. His athletics administration career began as a Graduate Assistant for Compliance from 2014 to 2016 under Dr. Patricia Simmons.
Before entering athletics, Tucker began his professional career as a Scout Executive with the Louisiana Purchase Council, overseeing programs and fundraising across nine parishes in the Louisiana Delta. He later returned to Grambling State to pursue graduate studies and transition fully into athletics administration.
A native of Little Rock, Arkansas, Tucker earned a bachelor’s degree in Political Science in 2011 and a Master of Science in Sport Administration in 2016, both from Grambling State University.
