In the first game of the second day of the 2015 Currence Classic, Concord University defeated Johnson C. Smith 106-97.

For the game, the Big Blues shot 34.8% from the field, 26.1% from three, and 50% from the free-throw line (15-for-30). The Patriots shot 45.8% from the field, 31.6% from three, and 68.9% from the free-throw line (31-for-45).
The Big Blues out-rebounded the Patriots 47-38, but committed 14 turnovers while the Patriots only had 7 turnovers.
The Big Blues started out slow offensively and were behind early, 2-11 just a couple minutes into the game. At about the midway point of the first half, the Big Blues were down by 10 points, 9-19, but couldn't cut into the lead anymore and were down 27-39 at the break.
In the second half, the Patriots came out hot and pushed the lead, 46-29, causing Coach Jackson to call a timeout at the 17:26 mark.
The Patriots continued to score easily and push the lead to 20 points at the 15:58 mark after a made three.
The Big Blues went on a run over the next few minutes to cut the lead to 10 points at the 10:34 mark and the 2:45 mark. But the Big Blues couldn't overcome the deficit, and ultimately lost the game, 69-81.
Freshman Chas Harvey had the team high, 17 points, grabbed 7 rebounds, and had 3 assists. Junior James Day (pictured) had 13 points with 8 rebounds, and 2 assists.
Junior Joshua Windham had 9 rebounds, 8 points, 3 assists, and 2 steals. Senior Aaron Williams had 8 points, 5 rebounds, and 1 assist. Freshman Joseph Adeyemo was productive with 4 rebounds and 2 points in 7 minutes of play.
The Big Blues will host Bluefield College in the 'Battle of the Bluefields' on Monday, Nov. 30th. The Women's Basketball team will play at 6:00 p.m. and the Men are to follow at 8:00 p.m.
