Charleston, WV- The Big Blues Women's Tennis team opened their season today on the road at University of Charleston. Things did not go as planned as the Blues fell by a final score of 7-2.
The day started with the closest match of the competition as The Big Blues #1 doubles of Wendy Rudhu and Taffy Mawisire squared off against Toni Katipa and Elise Edwards of Charleston. This doubles match was back and forth affair that saw the match go into a tiebreaker in which Wendy and Taffy won. This was one of the few bright spots for the Lady Blues. The other victory came in the singles matches when Taffy took on Edwards again. This one was still very close as Taffy had to win the tiebreaker in the second set to clinch her match. While the ladies gave it their all in todays compeition they came up short by a score of 7-2. Detailed scores are listed below:
