Box Score Jefferson City, TN- The baseball team took the 3-hour trek down to Carson Newman for a midweek game against the Eagles. The cold weather was none to kind to the Big Blues as they lost 12-4.
Bo Williams started on the mound for the Big Blues going 1 inning, giving up 3 runs on 2 hits, 1 of those being a 3 run homerun. Coach Hunter went to his bullpen early and brought on Jacob Muncy in relief. Muncy gave up 3 runs on 5 hits in 2 innings of work. No pitcher for Bluefield State went more than 2 innings in today's contest. Carson Newman took full advantage of Bluefield State's lack of pitching for the day and scored 12 runs on 14 hits, including a 3-run home run out over center field.
The Big Blues offense was lead by Justin Bowler who ended the day with 3 hits and 2 RBIs. The Blues tried to make a run late, bringing on 6 pinch hitters in the second half of the game. But the hole Bluefield State was in was just too great and the Blues fell 12-4.
