Bluefield, WV- The Big Blues came out strong against West Virginia Wesleyan winning all 3 doubles matches. They continued playing well into the singles matches and picked up their second win of the season finishing off WV Wesleyan by a final score of 7-2.
Bluefield State came out and really put WV Wesleyan in a hole by winning all 3 doubles matches. The Hernandez sisters were in a dog fight in their doubles match taking it by a final score of 9-7.
Even with a 3-0 lead the ladies did not let up, winning 4 of the 6 matches. The singles matches were highlighted by Alaina Blankenship's win. She took care of her opponent 6-4, 7-5 giving the Big Blues their 5th point on the day and sealing the match. Marta Briales also won her match, taking care of business in 3 sets. Wendy Rudhu and Laura Hernandez won their matches as well, giving the Blues 7 total points for the match.
The Ladies will be back in action on Wednesday at 4:00 pm against Bluefield College. This is a change in the schedule because there is the potential for bad weather tomorrow and so the Coach's decided to move the match.
