Long Lay-Off Hurts Big Blues

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

Wise, VA- Coach Dillion and the Big Blues finally were back on the diamond after being off for 10 days due to cancellations and spring break. The lay-off did not do the team any favors as Coach Dillion's Alma Mater won 20-0 & 16-0 in the double header.

In game 1 the Ladies were no hit for a 3rd time this season and the Cavaliers poured on the runs. UVA-Wise only recorded 6 strikeouts in game 1. BSC's players were making contact with the ball but unable to find gaps in the defense. The Big Blues lone baserunner was Shonte Cargill who reached on a walk in the 4th inning. Ashley Rasnake and Lyndsay Hatfield were able to make contact in the inning but were unable to advance Cargill.

Game 2 was a little better for the Big Blues as they were able to get on base. Emily Day reached twice, once off a hit in the 1st and a walk in the 4th. Marceda Lee recorded the other hit for the Big Blues in the 2nd inning.

The Big Blues now have a road trip swing to Richmond this weekend to take on Virginia Union on Sunday and Virginia State on Monday. They then return home for the 1st time in over a month on Tuesday to take on Ohio Valley.
