Women's Cross Country Finishes Fourth At Livingstone Invitational

SALISBURY, NC - The women's cross country team placed fourth at the 2021 Livingstone Invitational Friday, October 15 at Livingstone College.

Final Results

"I couldn't be more proud of our team," said B-State Head Coach Brooks Rexroat

"On the women's side, Victoria Cabral continued to improve and she was our lead runner for a big part of the race. That put her into position for a great finish and also helped pace Abbey Puckett toward her fourth career top-10 finish in five meets. That's an impressive start. Juliana continued to show big gains, and Paula had a strong day as well," said coach Rexroat.

The women ran another 5k this week. Abbey Puckett led the way for the Big Blue finishing fifth with a time of 23:16.0.

"We had an illness that kept one of our runners from lining up this week, but Sydney Billington came over from the track squad and ran as our fifth today. As a hammer throw specialist competing in a race on a day's notice, she went out and beat a number of endurance athletes who have been training all season for this event. That kind of heart, determination and effort speaks volumes about the quality of young women and men are part of our program, and we're excited about where things are heading," said head coach Rexroat.

The Big Blue have a bye this upcoming weekend. Friday, October 29 they will participate in the Bluefield College Invitational.
