BLUEFIELD - Bluefield State Baseball defeated Bluefield College Tuesday afternoon at Bowen Field for thr first time in 14 years. Bluefield State stole the lead late in the game with an error in the ninth, which allowed The Big Blue to score. The Big Blue went on to capture the win, 6-4.  

Bluefield College got things started in the first inning. Wisner drove in two when homerun.

In the top of the fourth inning, Bluefield State College tied things up, 4-4. Taylor Tibbs hit a home run on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs.

Austin Stambaugh earned the win for Bluefield State. The pitcher surrendered zero runs on zero hits over seven innings, striking out three and walking zero.

Number 23 took the loss for Bluefield College. undefined lasted two innings, allowing two hits and four runs while striking out two.

Lowery started the game for Bluefield College. The bulldogs went two innings, allowing zero runs on zero hits, striking out two, and walking zero.

Trae Fowler started the game for Bluefield State College. The pitcher lasted two innings, allowing three hits and four runs while walking zero

Bluefield State hit one home run on the day. Tibbs went yard in the fourth inning.

CJ Cooper led The Big Blue with two hits in four at-bats.

The season will continue Thursday, February 25 at Carolina University. The Big Blue will take on the Catamount in a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m.
