BLUEFIELD - The Women's tennis team traveled to Belmont, North Carolina, to take on the Crusaders from Belmont Abbey on a beautiful Tuesday afternoon.
After another win by Shreya Chakraborty and
Juliana Jimenez at number one, the doubles team of
Laura Arias and
Paula Saez were able to squeak out a 6-4 victory to capture the doubles point.
Virginia Zanotti and
Laura Arias were able to extend the lead to 3-0 with wins at the number four and number five singles positions. Needing only one more point for the win the Crusaders would not go away quietly.
Belmont fought back to even the match at 3-3 before
Juliana Jimenez was able to seal the victory with a thrilling Super-tiebreaker win 10-6.
