Softball Falls In Doubleheader To Mars Hill

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

BLUEFIELD - It was a long night for Bluefield State on the first day of Daylight Savings Time. They got shut out twice by Mars Hill Sunday afternoon.

The BIg Blue lost game one. 22-0.

Madison Thompson started the game one for the Big Blue. Thompson got through the first two innings relatively unscathed, giving up three runs. However, the Mountain Lions blew it wide open in the third, scoring 10 runs.

Fresheman pitcher Kennedy James debuted, following Thompson, and gave up 10 runs.

The defense wasn't much help, committing four errors. The offense was punchless at the plate, collecting only two hits.

Game two wasn't any better for the Big Blue.

Ashlee Brassert pitched and gave up 12 runs in the first two innings. Unfortunatley, the game was called at the end of the top of the third due to unforseen circumstances.
