Box Score 2 JEFFERSON, Tennessee - The Big Blue softball team suffered through another long afternoon Sunday. This time they dropped a doubleheader shutout to the Carson-Newman Eagles in Jefferson City, 13-0 and 14-0.
The Run Rule ended both games after Bluefield State batted in the fifth.
The Eagles' offense lived up to its #2 ranking in runs scored battering Big Blue pitchers for 32 hits, including eight doubles and two triples.
In Game 1, Kennedy James started for the Big Blue, followed by Madison Thompson and Kylie Nelson.
In Game 2, Ashlee Brassart started, followed by Jessi Foster.
The Big Blue's offense was as quiet as the Eagles' was loud, managing only two hits in each game.
The Eagles improved to 15-5, while the Big Blue continues to search for its first win at 0-8.
