Box Score BLUEFIELD - Bluefield State Baseball watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 21-1 loss to West Virginia State University, Wednesday, March 3. West Virginia State University scored on a double by Stone in the first inning and a walk by Christian in the second inning.
The Big Blue struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing the Yellow Jackets, giving up 21 runs.
Austin Stambaugh toed the rubber for Bluefield State. The southpaw lasted five and two-thirds innings, allowing six hits and five runs while striking out four and walking one.

West Virginia State scored nine runs in the ninth inning. The offensive firepower by the Yellow Jackets was led by Stone, Harrison, Fizer, Jordan, Conis, and Kemplin, all driving in runs in the inning.
Loftis was on the mound for the Yellow Jackets. The pitcher went two innings, allowing zero runs on zero hits, striking out three, and walking zero.
West Virginia State tallied 15 hits in the game. Jordan, Christian, Harrison, Quinn, and Stone each managed multiple hits for the Yellow Jackets. Jordan led West Virginia State with three hits in six at-bats.
