Box Score 2 BLUEFIELD - Bluefield State swept the Alice Lloyd Eagles Friday, 9-5 and 6-3. The wins brought the Big Blue back to the .500 mark at 11-11 for the season.
In Game 1, the Eagles jumped out to a 3-1 lead in the first inning behind RBI singles from Dalton Cornett, Alex White and Logan Gibbs.  
The Big Blue countered with one in second , and took the lead with four more in the fourth. Kevin Moxey doubled home two and Ty Sizemore followed with an RBI single.
Austin Stambaugh and JR McRee also had good days at the plate, collecting three hits apiece.
Tanner Brandon started for the Big Blue. He lasted five innings, giving up three runs and striking out 12.
Will Gladson and Dawson Beckett shut out the Eagles in relief.
In Game 2, the Big Blue got things started with one run in the first inning.
They added three more in the third, highlighted by Tanner Brandon's fifth homer of the season.  
JR McRee and Roman Moore each had two hits.
Jefferson Barmoy started for Bluefield State, giving up two runs over five innings. He struck out five.
