"Road wins are hard to come by in soccer but today we showed a level of drive and organization that allowed us to compete with one of the top ten teams in the region," said Head coach Scott Forster.
The Crusaders attacked early when Shelby Sheperd snagged the first goal at the 11-minute unassisted. The Big Blue played strong defense holding the Crusaders to one goal in the first half.
Less than ten minutes into the second The Crusaders struck early once again. Faith Knoedler scored at the 54-minute mark assisted by Kayla Cruse.
"Two small lapses in our focus cost us dearly, but a credit to the girls for battling on even when playing a full half with only 10 men," said coach Forster.
"I'm proud to coach these talented young women and am excited to continue our growth and development as a team."
Goalkeeper Noemi Christ had double-digit saves, grabbing 11 Tuesday afternoon. The Big Blue were outshot, 32-2, and shots on goal 13-1.
