BLUEFIELD - The Bluefield State Baseball team dropped game two against Concord University Sunday afternoon at Bowen Field, 8-4.
The Mountain Lions struck first with a two-run homer in the third inning by Zack Saryeldin giving them a 2-0 lead. In the top of the fourth, the Mountain Lions added four more runs on two 2 RBI singles by Chris Satcher and Josh Adkins, making it a 6-0 lead. The Big Blue would answer back later that inning after a home run by Ty Sizemore and an RBI single by
CJ Cooper, 6-2.
In the bottom of the sixth Sizemore would strike again, this time on an RBI double that brought in
Jordan Varela-Payne making it a 6-3 game.
In the top of the eighth, the Mountain Lions would add two runs to their lead on a wild pitch that Kyle Keena would score on and on an RBI single by Zack Saryeldin giving them an 8-3 lead over the Big Blue.
In the bottom of the ninth Sizemore would have another RBI after a sacrifice fly to center field that would bring in
Noah Wootten, the Big Blue now trail by four, 8-4.
The Mountain Lions held the Big Blue off to win game two of the series.
