WISE, Virginia -- The Big Blue women's tennis team finished the regular season with a win against the University of Virginia at Wise Sunday afternoon, 6-1.
The Big Blue swept the Cavaliers in doubles. Victoria Cabral and Ghita Courdi defeated Emily Conn and Sara Nichols on court three, 6-4.
Shreya Chakrabarly and Juliana Jimenez got the second win against Katya Akimenko Liza Akimenko on court 1, 7-6. Paula Saez Raez and Virginia Zanotti secured the doubles point, defeating Grace Hall Lillian Morris, 6-2.
In singles play, Paula Saez Raez grabbed the win in the number four spot, (1-6, 6-2,10-7). Juliana Jimenez defeated Katya Akimenko in the number three spot, (7-5,6-4).
Shreya Chakrabarly dropped against Liza Akimenko in the number one spot (7-6, 6-3). Victoria Cabral defeated Grace Hall in the number six spot, (6-1,6-1)
Ghita Courdi swept Lillian Morris in the number five spot to secure the win for the Big Blue, (6-0,6-0).
