Athens, WV – Bluefield State University men's basketball fell to Concord University 94-91 on Wednesday.
Concord got on the board first after an early foul, but Rylan Bowens answered with back-to-back buckets to put the Big Blue ahead by two. A three from Jordan Hinds extended the Big Blue lead to five. The Mountain Lions battled back to even the score at 11. At the 5:19 mark, the Mountain Lions built a lead of 19. Hinds finished the scoring for the first half to take the Big Blue into the half with the 53-37 deficit.
A fast break layup by Redus midway through the second half cut the Mountain Lion deficit to single digits (67-58). Later in the half, Chase Page found Redus in transition to pull the Big Blue within two of the Mountain Lions. With five minutes left to play, the Mountain Lions built another double-digit lead (91-79). A trip to the line and a three from Redus with 38 seconds left pulled the Big Blue within one, but the Mountain Lions answered with a jumper of their own to take the 94-91 victory over the Big Blue.
Jordan Hinds led all scorers with 26 points, four steals, four rebounds, four assists and one block. Ja'Mere Redus added 23 points, seven rebounds, and three steals with Nduka Ogwu having 18 points, seven rebounds, five blocks, and three steals.
