Bluefield, WV – Jordan Hinds led the Big Blue in a 76-61 victory over Saint Augustine's University. The Big Blue move to 5-7 (2-1 CIAA) and Saint Augustine's fall to 4-7 (0-2 CIAA).
The Big Blue took the early lead, but the Falcons battled back to even the score at seven. A bucket from Hinds and a three from Clay Baldwin gives the Big Blue the five-point lead. At the four-minute mark, a steal and dunk from Baldwin extended the Big Blue lead 23-14. The Falcons would pull within five, but back-to-back layups from Baldwin and Jaylen Bernard took the Big Blue into the half with the 28-19 lead.
Midway through the second half, a three from Daron Traylor maintained the Big Blue lead, 47-37. Later in the half, two free throws by Hinds gave thee Big Blue their largest lead of the night 64-44. The Falcons pulled within 13 with six minutes left to play. The Big Blue would outscore the Falcons 48-22 in the second quarter to take the 76-61 victory.
Jordan Hinds led all scorers with 32 points, six rebounds and three steals. Clay Baldwin adds 15 with Daron Traylor having 13.
