Baltimore, MD- Bluefield State University men's basketball has been picked 12th in the 2024-25 Central Intercollegiate Athletics (CIAA) Preseason Poll and Jordan Hinds has been named to the All-CIAA Preseason Backcourt team announced on Monday by the CIAA.

"I'm excited and blessed to be returning for my senior year at Bluefield State," said Jordan Hinds. "I'm so grateful the Lord for this opportunity, and for the support I've received from coaches, teammates, staff and my family. I look forward to a successful season, representing Bluefield State in the CIAA and showcasing what our program is all about. GO BIG BLUE!"

The Big Blue finished the regular season 7-21 and then clinched two CIAA Tournament wins over St. Augustine's University (50-48) and reigning champions Winston-Salem State University (67-66) before falling to Virginia Union University (61-55) in the quarterfinals.

"I respect what these coaches seem to feel about us," said head coach Devin Hoehn. "But at the end of the day this doesn't mean anything to us because you still have to play the game."

Jordan Hinds was named to the All-CIAA Preseason Backcourt team. Hinds led the CIAA in scoring averaging 19 points per game, second in free throw percentage (.858), second in steals (67), fourth in field goal percentage (.450), fifth in 3-PT field goals per game, and eighth in rebounding (184).

"We're honored to have Jordan be selected preseason All-CIAA," said Coach Hoehn. "What he accomplished last year, has shown he's one of the best performers in our league. We expect him to have a fantastic senior season and it will be proven that his preseason accolades will be richly earned."

The Big Blue will kick off their season at the Atlantic Region Crossover November 8th-9th against Wheeling and West Liberty University.
