Big Blue Battles in Road Contests Against Wingate and Presbyterian

Clinton, SC / Wingate, NC – Bluefield State University acrobatics & Tumbling continued its season with a pair of road matchups, facing off against Wingate University and Presbyterian College. The Big Blue fell in both contests, posting final scores of 177.920 against Wingate and 119.50 against Presbyterian.

Bluefield State at Wingate

The meet began with the Compulsory event, where Bluefield State earned an event total of 24.00. The team highlighted the round with an 8.15 in the Toss heat and a 7.80 in the Pyramid heat. In the Acro and Tumbling heats, the Big Blue recorded scores of 6.050 and 2.00.

In the Acro event, the team totaled 18.30. Their performance was led by a 8.650 in the 5 Element Heat, supported by 6.050 in the 6 Element Heat and a 3.600 in the 7 Element Heat. Moving into the Pyramid event, the Big Blue finished with a total of 23.85, featuring a 8.850 in the Inversion heat, a 8.400 in the Open heat and 6.600 in the Synchronized heat.

The second half opened with the Toss event, where the team earned 21.90. The scoring was anchored by a 7.350 in the 450 Salto heat. In the Tumbling event, the Big Blue combined for 36.800 points, with the 6 Element pass serving as a highlight at 8.625. The Big Blue concluded the meet with a Team Event score of 53.070, resulting in a final meet total of 177.920.

Bluefield State at Presbyterian

Bluefield State continued its road trip at Presbyterian, finishing with a total of 119.500. The meet opened with a Compulsory total of 20.30, sparked by an 8.40 in the Pyramid heat and 8.15 Toss heat.

In the Acro event, the team earned an 18.05 total, with the 5 Element heat leading the way 7.25. The Pyramid event remained steady for the Big Blue, totaling 23.65. The team recorded an 8.60 in the Inversion heat, 8.20 in the Open heat and a 6.85 in the Synchronized heat.  

At halftime, Bluefield State trailed Presbyterian 89.10-62.00.

The second half started with the Toss event, where the Big Blue earned a 22.45. This included 8.10 in the 450 Salto heat and a 7.35 in the Open heat. In the Tumbling event, the team posted a 35.050 total, highlighted by an 8.900 in the 6 Element pass and a 7.625 in the Open Pass.

Bluefield State completed the meet with a final score of 119.500, while Presbyterian finished with 237.940.
