Bowie, MD – Bluefield State University Volleyball took down Bowie State 3-1 (20-25, 25-22, 25-18, 25-16) to move to 10-4 in conference play.
After dropping the first set, the Big Blue jumped out to an early 8-2 lead. The Bulldogs pulled within two, but a kill from Gabby Hale and Imani Stokes pushed the Big Blue lead. Later in the set, a kill from Fesili Masaniai sparked a four-point run to give the Big Blue the 20-14 lead. The Bulldogs attempted the late rally with a three-point streak, but an error by the Bulldogs put the Big Blue on top 25-22.
Masaniai opened set two with back-to-back kills to give the Big Blue the early lead. The Big Blue extended their lead late in the set with four consecutive points, 21-15. A kill from Stokes and Hale secured the set three victory 25-18.
A kill from Stokes pushed the Big Blue lead 18-10, but the Bulldogs would score five in a row to pull within three of the Big Blue. A kill from Jannice Lynch sparked a six-point run for the Big Blue (24-16). A kill from Stokes secured the victory for the Big Blue.
Masaniai led the Big Blue with 13 kills with Hale adding 37 assists and Sydney Hoosier coming away with 27 assists.
