Bluefield, WV – Bluefield State University men's basketball secured victory over Livingstone College 94-79 in a non-conference matchup on Saturday. The Big Blue improve to 6-3 (1-0 CIAA) on the year.
Four Big Blue scored in double figures with Romeo Aquino leading the way with 20 points, including four threes and adding four rebounds and three steals. Larry Howell contributed 16 points and six rebounds. Shainen Carter and Jordan Hinds came away with 13 points apiece, with Hinds adding eight rebounds.
The Big Blue set the tone early, shooting 50% from the field in the first half to take the 49-42 lead into the half. In the second half, the Big Blue scored 54 points in the paint and scored 27 points off of Livingstone's 25 turnovers.
The Big Blue outscored the Blue Bears 45-37 in the second half to seal the 94-79 victory.
