Bluefield, WV – Bluefield State University volleyball fell 3–1 (25–16, 19–25, 13–25, 12–25) to Virginia State on Thursday evening inside Ned Shott Gymnasium. The Big Blue move to 8–12 overall and 5–1 in CIAA play, while the Trojans improve to 6–8 and 5–1 in the conference.
The Big Blue opened strong, using a 10-3 run to take the first set 25–16. The Trojans responded by taking the following three sets to secure the victory over the Big Blue.
Allyson Martin led the Big Blue with seven kills, nine digs, and two aces. Dynasty Andrews also finished with seven kills and added three blocks. Setter Gabby Hale dished out 23 assists to go along with 11 digs and an ace, while Maya Morales posted a team high 15 digs.
