Bowie, MD – Bluefield State University volleyball earned a road victory over Bowie State, winning 3–0 (25–17, 25–22, 25–18) at A.C. Jordan Arena. The Big Blue improved to 9–12 overall and 6–1 in CIAA play.
Bluefield State was efficient offensively, hitting .247 as a team while holding the Bulldogs to just .020. The Big Blue totaled 34 kills, 31 assists, and 46 digs on the night.
Soniya Garner led the way with 11 kills, followed by Allyson Martin with eight and Callesta Styles with five. Gabrielle Hale directed the offense with 26 assists and added six digs and an ace. Martin and Kaileigh Solis each finished with a team-high 13 digs, while Styles defensively added five blocks.
The Big Blue controlled the first set 25–17 before holding off a late Bowie State rally to take the second 25–22. The Big Blue sealed the sweep with a dominant third frame, jumping out to a 8–2 lead on the way to a 25–18 win.
