Bluefield, WV – Bluefield State University women's basketball took down Glenville State 84-72, marking the program's first win over the Pioneers since 2009. The Big Blue improve to 2-3 on the season.
The Big Blue open the night with a 15-16 first quarter before finding their rhythm in the second, outscoring the Pioneers 23-16 to take a 38-32 lead into halftime. The Big Blue continued to control the matchup through the second half, posting back-to-back 23-point quarters while holding off Glenville.
The Big Blue forced 33 turnovers and turned them into 42 points, while also getting 46 points from the bench.
Leniyah Fulsom led the Big Blue with 19 points, six assists and four rebounds. Jasmine Jenkins followed with 18 points and Azahreya Drayton-Gill added 16 points and eight rebounds. Shanon Hoover pulled down 10 rebounds and Michelle McGee collected five steals.
