Bowie, MD – Bluefield State University men's basketball fell short against Bowie State, 106-103. The Big Blue moved to 12-8 (5-5 CIAA), with the Bull Dogs improving to 12-9 (4-5 CIAA).
The Bulldogs dominated the first half, outscoring the Big Blue 60-37. Four minutes into the second half, a jumper by Rell Williams sparked a nine-point run to point within eight of the Bull Dogs. A three-point play by Jordan Hinds cut the Bull Dogs lead to four with 12:38 left in the half. The Bull Dogs answered and extended their lead to ten midway through the half. A trip to the line for Romeo Aquino put the Big Blue down by two with 19 seconds to go, but the Big Blue ran out of time, falling 106-1103.
Jordan Hinds led the Big Blue with 20 points, followed by Rell Williams with 19 and Shainen Carter with 18 points and nine rebounds.
