Bluefield, WV – Bluefield State University softball fell to Bluefield University in a doubleheader contest, 5 - 0 and 4 - 1.
Game One 5 - 0 L:
The Rams scored two in the first, one in the second, fifth, and sixth to secure the 5 - 0 victory over the Big Blue. The Big Blue collected five hits with Natalie Quezada leading the way with two. Maggie Mullin, Lexi Shadowens, and La'Naeyah Ayers came away with one hit each.
Jackie Sandy took the loss in the circle for the Big Blue, throwing six innings, giving up seven hits, five runs, and one walk.
Game Two 4 – 1 L:
The Rams took the early lead scoring two in the first. The Big Blue cut the lead to one after a lead off double from Ayers followed by Paige Whittington collecting the RBI. The Rams extended their lead in the fifth with two runs to seal the 4-1 victory.
Natalie Quezada got the loss in the circle, throwing six innings, giving up seven hits, four runs, two walks, and struck out three.
