Sanford, NC – Bluefield State University men's golf held off Winston-Salem State and host Fayetteville State to capture the CIAA Southern Division Golf Tournament Title. The Big Blue turned in a three-round total of +48 to secure the conference victory.
Leading the way was Michael Wilson, who faced off against Freddie Timmis in a playoff to determine the individual winner. Both finished the three rounds tied at +4 (220). Wilson open the tournament with a 68 (-4) to set the pace, while Timmis turned in a final-round of 73 (+1).
Eman Lim secured a top-five finish, placing fifth overall at +9 (221), Magnus Nielsen joined him inside the top 10, finishing tied for eighth at +12 (228). Ben Lyons posted a +15 (231) to finish 13th, while Alexander Hambleton and Joseph Emery finished tied for 16th at +17 (233). Tom Blumire capped the Big Blue scoring in a tie for 23rd at +19 (235).
Wilson, Timmis, and Lim earned All-Tournament honors for finishing in the top five.
