Bluefield, WV- The Big Blues struggle today at home getting swept by the Tusculum Pioneers 9-0. The weather this week was not very friendly to the Big Blues as they were unable to practice to help them prepare for a very good Tusculum team.
The closest match was on the doubles 1 court with Wendy Rudhu and Tafadzwa Mawisire. The ladies were once again able to play well together but Tusculum was very strong across the board and defeated the ladies 8-4.
The second half of the singles matches were scored like the doubles, 1st to win 8 games, because Tusculum clinched the overall match win. But with even with the match out of reach, the ladies kept fighting. Alaina Blankenship played well but ended up losing 8-3. Mawisire also played well in her singles match but once again Tusculum was too strong and Mawisire lost 8-4.
The Big Blues continue their busy week, playing West Virginia Wesleyan at 2:00 pm at the City Courts.
